I was stronger than them; I was the one who reads more and research more.

I am the first daughter of a crowded and conservative family. I am the most rebellious, craziest, and most glaring child of a family that uses Islam only to cover and suppress women. Until today, they couldn’t make me do anything that I didn’t want to do, but they didn’t give up on putting the blocks on me. I don’t know how I stood so strong or how I resisted, but I have been fighting for five years not to wear the hijab.

I am only 18 years old and this year, after the university exam, I am going to move on as more determined and stronger. My family was so strong while supressing me, but there was something they forgot, they raised me, and I was stronger than them; I was the one who reads more and research more. I don’t have story about hijab that is full of difficulties like most of you, because I’ve never accepted it and I never resign myself to it.

Girls, let’s be strong, read, research, write, support each other and let’s raise conscious new generations who know what they want. Hoping to be a society in which strong women raise strong people …
